Safety for Travel, Adventure and Roads (STAR)

With an increase in the number of accidents on the road, the idea of ‘Road Safety’ has emerged as of paramount importance. This course focuses on creating a ‘Culture of Safety’ for prevention of accidents, management of a road trauma victim and safety tips for a safe adventure or a leisure travel. The course aims at creating community awareness and we are planning to integrate this training as a curriculum of Healthcare Sector Skill Council under Skill Development Ministry and Accreditation from various agencies.


A one day comprehensive basics of road safety and pre-hospital care course would include:

● Basic life support and first aid.
● Basics of disaster management (triaging).
● Pre hospital victim management
● Hands-on experience.
● Travel safety and Safe driving practices
● Reason for these accidents
● What would have prevented the accident, injury or fatality?
● Personal safety, like seat belts, air bags.
● Protective clothing and helmets for 2 wheelers
● Importance In sizing and choosing helmets and importance of fastening chinstrap with proper tightness.
● Training on Helmet removal.
● Extrication from car/ auto / bus and rescue of two wheeler riders. With and without appropriate extrication equipment
(eg. using rolled up newspaper as splints, car rear seats as stretchers etc.)
