App that can measure the Blood Oxygen Level

A WhatsApp message has been circulated claiming that ‘Pedometer, 2018’, a mobile app can help in measuring the oxygen level in the blood just by placing the index finger on the rear camera of the phone. The message provides the instruction and manual for the application. According to health experts and cyber experts, the app is a hoax as there is no evidence that any smartphone technology can precisely detect the blood oxygen saturation.
