COVID-19 Exposure Notification by Google and Apple

A message is being circulated on social media platforms stating that the latest COVID-19 Exposure Notification launched by Google and Apple is a tracker (illegally) inserted into every phone. It mentioned the phone disruption the week of July was for this purpose. The message includes the instructions guiding the operators for the new update. On this, Google has provided the explanation stating that the app generates a unique ID for the phone and notify the user with further instructions from the concerned health authorities if you are near positive COVID-19 case (IDs associated with positive COVID-19 cases against its list). However, the users have an option to turn the service off.
