Integrated Disaster Management Programme (IDMP)

Educational institutions are prone to a number of hazards that can affect the life of students, staff and property. In view of this, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had notified guidelines on “Safety of students on and off campuses of Higher Educational Institution” which were communicated on April 16, 2015. The educational administrators across the country have also been requested to ensure that students are safe guarded against attacks, threats and accidents by preparing them for the same. The purpose of this course is to educate, sensitize and train our future generations on this essential lifesaving and humanitarian skills. The course begins with the basic introduction of disasters, cross-cutting issues and culminates with the learning of the basic life-saving skills.


This course has been adopted by several universities and more than 18,000 students at several universities and organisations like Symbiosis International University (across all the streams of media, health, law and management at campuses at Pune, Noida, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Nashik), Mullana University, Ambala, Birla University, Madhya Pradesh and many more.
