Project Planning Process Workshop

INTRODUCTION

Institution for Disasters, Emergency & Accidents (IDEA) organized an online workshop on the theme “Research Meets Practice Workshop” on 22nd April 2022. The topic of the workshop was ‘Project Planning Process-PPP’. The workshop was organized in online mode on the Google meet platform from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The online workshop witnessed the participation of around 30 Community based Organizations (CBOs) from Assam, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh.

THE WORKSHOP

The event began with an open discussion on the kind of work the CBOs are doing currently in their respective geographical locations. The CBOs shared about their current work in detail. Followed by the discussion, Ms. Pooja Saxena conducted the session on ‘Project PlanningProcess’. During the session, two major topics were covered, first, Approaches to Projectmanagement, and second, Project Programme Cycle.

Under these two topics, she covered the following sub-topics:

Approaches to Project Management

  • People-Centric/Focus on people
  • Results based management

Project Programme Cycle

  • Initial Assessment
  • Planning
  • Implementation and Monitoring
  • Evaluation
  • Reflection and Learning


Ms. Pooja Saxena also gave several real-life examples from the field for a better understanding of the topics for participants. Several interactive discussions were also conducted during the session where the CBOs shared their approaches to project management which they are currently using or have used in past and also, their own experiences of the Project management cycle.
